A GTA warehouse with repeated break-ins had old cameras with taped, unprotected connections. We weatherproofed them and added outdoor thermal cameras connected to an alarm monitoring centre; thermal detects people in darkness with far fewer false triggers from shadows or headlights.
Property: Warehouse, GTA
Completed: February 2026
Services: Commercial security cameras, thermal detection, alarm monitoring
Installed: Outdoor thermal cameras on the perimeter, connected to a monitoring centre
The problem
The warehouse had been broken into more than once. It already had cameras, but footage reviewed the next morning hadn’t stopped anything. The owner wanted a system that would react while someone was on the property, not just record it.

What we found on site
The outdoor connections on the existing cameras had been taped up with no proper weatherproofing. Somehow they were still working after years outside, but that kind of connection fails sooner or later, usually in the first heavy rain or freeze.
Before adding anything new, we sealed those connections properly so the old cameras wouldn’t drop out in the next wet season.

Why thermal cameras
A thermal camera detects body heat rather than visible light. That gives it two advantages on a dark industrial lot:
- It picks up a person in complete darkness, with no floodlight needed.
- It isn’t fooled by shadows, passing headlights or branches moving in the wind, which set off ordinary motion detection all night.
That second point matters most when cameras are connected to monitoring. Every false trigger costs someone’s attention, and a system that cries wolf gets ignored. Fewer false alarms means the real ones get taken seriously.

What we installed
- Outdoor thermal cameras covering the perimeter
- A connection to an alarm monitoring centre, so a detection after hours goes to someone who can act on it
- Proper weatherproofing on the existing camera connections
The work was done by our insured team with WSIB coverage.
