Wi-Fi for 60+ Trailers: Starlink and a 1 km Wireless Bridge

Owl Vision Solutions brought high-speed Wi-Fi to a rural trailer park with more than 60 trailers: a Starlink dish for the internet connection, a point-to-point wireless bridge carrying the signal over 1 km, and outdoor access points spreading coverage across the site.

The problem: no wired internet

Rural properties and seasonal parks often have no cable or fibre at all, and cellular signal can be patchy. This site needed internet for more than 60 trailers spread across a large, tree-covered property.

The solution

  1. Starlink for the internet connection, mounted where it has a clear view of the sky.
  2. A wireless bridge: a pair of directional antennas that link two points with line of sight, carrying the connection more than 1 km across the property without running cable.
  3. Access points at the far end to spread Wi-Fi across the trailers.

The result

Reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi across more than 60 trailers, from a site that had no usable connection before.

Where this works

The same approach suits farms, campgrounds, construction sites, detached garages and workshops, or any building too far from the main house to run cable. The key requirement for a wireless bridge is a clear line of sight between the two antennas; trees and hills in the way mean a taller mount or a relay point.

Frequently asked questions

How far can a wireless bridge carry internet?

With clear line of sight, a point-to-point wireless link can cover long distances; this one carries the signal more than 1 km. Trees, buildings and terrain between the two ends are the main limits, so we survey the path first.

Does this work for farms, campgrounds and job sites?

The same approach suits any property where wired internet is unavailable or too far away: get a connection at one point, bridge it to where people are, then spread Wi-Fi with access points.
