Matte Black Cameras That Disappear Into Dark Soffits

Matte black camera mounted under a dark soffit at the corner of a modern home

Owl Vision Solutions installed matte black UniFi G6 180 and G6 Turret cameras plus a UniFi AI Horn on a modern GTA home with dark soffits, fishing every cable inside the soffit so the cameras blend in and no wiring shows on the exterior.

The brief

The homeowner had a modern house with dark soffits and light brick, and didn’t want white cameras dotted along the roofline. They specified matte black equipment that would blend into the soffit and wanted no visible cable anywhere.

What we installed

  • UniFi G6 180 for a wide view across the front
  • UniFi G6 Turret cameras for the sides and corners
  • UniFi AI Horn, a speaker that can sound a warning when the system detects someone, so the setup deters as well as records

All in matte black, as the client specified.

Every cable inside the soffit

Each cable was fished internally through the soffit structure to its camera, so there’s nothing stapled along the brick or the fascia. From the street you see the camera and nothing else.

Colour matching matters more than people expect. A white camera on a black soffit is the first thing your eye goes to; a black one disappears. Most camera lines now come in both, so it’s worth asking before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Can security cameras match the colour of my house?

Many camera models come in both white and black. Choosing the colour that matches your soffit or trim makes cameras much less noticeable. On this home, matte black suited the dark soffits.

Can camera wiring be hidden on an existing home?

In many homes, yes. Cable can often be fished through soffits, attics and existing cavities so nothing runs along the outside walls. We check access during the site visit before quoting.
